City of Atlanta Residents: Please ACT NOW to Support Water Efficiency Measures!
The Atlanta City Council will soon be voting on the proposed Sustainable Building Ordinance, and UCR needs your help to voice your support for this important measure! These plans, some of the most progressive in the country, set standards for water-use efficiency, energy, and indoor air quality in new construction projects and will help Atlanta rise to meet many of the serious challenges it faces today. In light of the recent ruling in the tri-state water wars (click here for more information), it is more important than ever that we make the best use of our water resources by adopting proactive water efficiency measures in building and development. We believe this ordinance will help protect the health of residents and preserve the environment, while at the same time stimulating the local economy, attracting businesses and creating green jobs.
How you can help!
The Atlanta City Council Committee on Community Development/Human Recourses is considering whether to recommend the Sustainable Building Ordinance for a full Council vote. We need your help! Please contact your council representative and to urge them to support Atlanta’s Sustainable Building Ordinance. By passing this ordinance, we can secure a healthier, greener, and more prosperous Atlanta together, for ourselves and for our children.
